Best School Library Award, 2017

Darshan Academy, Delhi won the Dr. S.M. Ganguly Best School Library Award, 2017. An award ceremony was organised by the Indian Library Association at the inaugural function of the 63rd International Annual Conference 2017 on Sustainable Development of Library and Information Science Profession. The conference was held at Dr. Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 23rd Nov 2017. The Indian Library Association is an old and renowned association in the country with its various active departments working towards the development of libraries. Therefore, it was a proud moment for the school to have received this prestigious award in the category of the Best School Library. Along with the award, a citation recognising the various functions and services offered by the library was read out to the assembly. The support of the management, the Principal Mr. A. David and services of Ms. Mamta Amarpuri, the school librarian were highly appreciated by the dignitaries. A memento, citation and a shawl were presented to the school librarian. A certificate of appreciation for her remarkable services was also given to her. Ms. Mamta Amarpuri was also selected to present a paper on “The Role of Associations in Development of Library and Information Science Education” at the conference. Out of a total of 137 papers received, 90 were selected for publication and 19 were chosen for presentation at the conference. It was a proud moment for the school that the paper contributed by Ms. Amarpuri was selected and presented in the conference. A certificate for contributing and presenting the paper was also given to her.
