Delhi State Annual Athletic Championship
|
|
|
Darshan Academy, Delhi students participated in 71st Delhi State Annual Athletic
Championship from 21stJuly – 23rd July, 2011 held at Chattarsal Stadium, Delhi.
Darshan Academy students stood out, winning the Best Mach Past Trophy from amongst
the 22 schools participating from all over Delhi. The students were praised by the
Hon’ble Chief Guest Mr. Rama Kant Goswami Minister of Labour, Industry and Environment
and Guest of Honour Maha Bali Satpal Singh Ji for their effort which exemplified
self discipline, self control, best organizing skills, and team work.

INSPIRE AWARDS EXHIBITION
|
|
|
Sachin Demla of Darshan Academy, Delhi brought laurels to the school by securing
first position in the District Level Science Exhibition organized under the Inspire
Theme (2011) introduced by the Science & Technology Wing of the Govt. of India.
The exhibition was organized for two days, 18th & 19th July, 2011 at Nodal Centre,
S.K.V, Adarsh Nagar. He outshone everyone with his charismatic and meticulous presentation
on “Virtual Telescope.” He secured 1st position from amongst the competition of
22 participating schools. Leaving behind everyone in District and State Level, he
is headed towards the next level: the National Level.

OUR SHINING STARS
|
|
1. a. Master Deepankar Satija of Darshan Academy Delhi has come
up as a whiz kid. He emerged as the first Runner up at Finals-National level in
the "Intel Hardware Quiz" after facing a tough challenge by the other 3 Finalist
students in Twenty one consecutive rounds and passing them all with score above
70%. He is now rewarded by the Intel corporations, as follows: -
1) 50% Annual fees reduction in higher studies from an Intel Affiliated
college.
2) Free entry in Intel corporations “ALL TECH QUIZ” in the 2012
at State level.
3) Intel lifetime Membership with official offers.
4) Job Placement in Intel corporations or its Business Partners.
b. Master Deepankar also emerged a winner in 2010 World InfoTech
International Quiz at National Level and has been selected to represent India at
the International Level in France as part of his team “ Northern Veeras” . He has
achieved the feat after individually clearing a number of quizzing levels at regional
levels in India organized by InfoTech Enterprises GmbH Computers, France, successfully
leaving behind a records 1,24, 789 entries from Northern states of India
2. Master Sachin Demla proudly represented Delhi state at the National
Science Congress held at Bengaluru after winning zonal, central and state level
rounds in the Science debate organized by National Council of Science Museums. He
has been awarded a Science Encyclopedia, a mini hydroelectric car kit and a telescope
for the school for his outstanding performance in the Conference.
3. a Ms. Reena Yadav of Darshan Academy Meerut has been awarded
the Junior Memory Grandmasters Title in Category A (less than 18yrs of age) for
the year 2010 by ‘India Book of Records’. With her sharp memory she demonstrated
the memorization of :
1.50 digits in less than 10 minutes
2. 50 random words in less than 12 minutes
3. 25 fictional events & historic /future dates in less than 10
minutes.
4. Calculating day of any given date in less than 20 sec.
b. Ms. Reena Yadav has also been selected by the Dep’t. Of Science
and Technology, Government of India under the “Inspire Awards-2010’ scheme to prepare
a science model in a relevant context and present it at the state level. If selected
the model would be showcased at the National Level. She has been awarded Rs. 5000/-and
assistance from local science centre for preparing the model.

The first group of grade XII students of Darshan Academy,Delhi, vaulted towards
excellence and recorded enviable results in Science and Commerce Streams.
Karan Aggrawal of Commerce Stream brought laurels to the Academy by securing an
aggregate of 92%, and Supriya Chopra of Science Stream shone with an aggregate of
91.6%. Rakesh Singla of Science Stream, Darshan Academy, Ludhiana, excelled with
an aggregate of 90.2%.
Neha Aggarwal of Darshan Academy, Meerut, brought laurels to the Academy by securing
very good marks, aggregating to 94.6%, followed by Manish Singhal & Sagar Bansal
scoring 94% & 92.20% respectively.
Under the new grading system for grade X introduced by CBSE, Manvendra of Darshan
Academy, Meerut, shone with a perfect CGPA of 10 followed by Goria & Dev Mohan at
CGPA’s 9.8 & 9.6.
Twenty students of Darshan Academy, Delhi, scored CGPA more than 9. Shubham scored
a high CGPA of 9.8 and was closely followed by Uphaar and Sumukh at CGPA’s 9.6 &
9.4.

Darshanities shine at Hisar
|
|
|
|
|
|
Rishab Hooda of class X, Darshan Academy Hisar, participated in the Inter Block
Athletic Meet at Panipat. He won a gold medal in the 1500 meter under 16 category
and was selected to participate in the State Level Meet.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Ritika of class VII, Darshan Academy Hisar, participated in the 8th Haryana State
MTV Cycling Championship held at Kurukshetra University Stadium from 26th Feb. to
28th Feb. She won a gold medal in the 500 m Cycle Race and bronze in the 5 km Hilly
Area Cycle Race. The event was organized by Haryana State Cycling Association.

3rd International Mathematics Olympiad Examination
|
|
|
|
|
|
Baby Ishita Kalra of class IV and Manisha of class VI brought laurels to Darshan
Academy Kaithal by being chosen to participate in the 2nd round of the 3rd International
Mathematics Olympiad Examination. The event is organised by Science Olympic Foundation
New Delhi.

Annual All India Essay Writing Event, Meerut

|
|
|
|
Somya Verma of class VIII and Naman Jaiswal of class X, Darshan Academy Meerut,
won 1st Positions in the the Annual All India Essay Writing Event 2009 organised
by Shri Ram Chandra Mission in collaboration with United Nations Information Centre
for India & Bhutan.

Aptitude Test conducted by Satyam Fashon Institute,

Sneha Kapoor of grade XI, Shivani Arora and Mahima Mahajan of grade XII, won gold

Cyber Olympiad Contest-2009

|
Ten students Of Darshan Academy Hisar participated in the second round All India
Cyber Olympiad Contest-2009 held at Gurgaon in December. Vikas Beniwal received
a gold medal & a certificate in the contest. Other students were awarded with merit
certificates.

On the eve of Republic Day celebrations Darshan Academy Kaithal
brought laurels by securing first position in the cultural program organised by

Darshan Academy Dasuya students celebrated Republic Day with full
enthusiasm and presented a melodious group song, Kotie Kotie Kanthon Ney Gaya, in
the cultural program organised by District Administration. Their performance was
highly appreciated and they also won a trophy with certificate from the S.D.M. Dasuya.

• Nitin Demla of XII Darshan Academy Delhi, won the ‘Student of the
Year’ award by Times of India. He received a certificate, a memento and a
gift voucher worth Rs1000 from NIE Group.
• Poorvi Singh of Darshan Academy Delhi participated in the Short Put at the
7th Inter District National Sports meet held at Hardiwar on 7th November 2009.
• Sachin Demla of grade IX Darshan Academy Delhi won laurels for the school
by securing 1st Position for English and 2nd position for Hindi Extempore competitions
at State Level.

Harnoor Singh Toor, student of Darshan Academy Ludhiana, participated in the CBSE
Cluster XVI Table Tennis Championships, held at MGM Public School from 22nd to 25th
October, 2009. He took part in the Team Championships as well as the Individual
Championships and we are proud that he emerged as runner-up champion. He will be
representing the CBSE Cluster – 16 (under 14, boys category) in the CBSE National
Table Tennis Championship to be held in Nagpur, Maharashtra, from 21st to 28th December,
2009.

National Level Science Talent Search Examination 2009
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Unified Council of India, Hyderabad, organised the National Level Science Talent
Search Examination 2009 at the All India National level on 25th January 2009. The
examination contained questions in Science, Mathematics & General Knowledge.
This year 340,000 students participated in NSTSE.

|
|
|
|
The examination provides a platform to students of Class I - XII to show their ability.
Students securing rank below 100 are recognized as national toppers.

Making” & “Recycling of Waste Materials Competition,” organised
by Dayawati Modi Academy, on 23 April 2009 to mark the occasion of “Earth
Day”.

Sakshi Chahal of class VII A participated in the “Recycling of Waste Materials
Contest” and won first prize.

Aviral Sharma of class VI A participated in the “Poster Making Contest”

Times of India declared Garima Jaitely of class X “Student of the Year 2006-07”.

Students of Darshan Academy Delhi participated in a painting & essay competition
organized by the Foundation for Unity of Religions and Enlightened Citizenship (FUREC).
80 selected paintings and essays were printed in a book called “10 Ways to
Change the World” with a foreword written by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. It
was a matter of great pride for the whole Darshan family that18 out of 80 selected
paintings and essays were contributions from Darshan Academy students. Students
had an opportunity to meet Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at the release of the book in
October, 2007. He personally autographed a book for each student.
